These terms cover your use of the Room Scan Alpha iOS app and website at roomscanalpha.com (together, "the service"), operated by Jake Julian ("we" or "us"). By using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

A free, non-commercial beta

The service is a free, non-commercial beta. We do not charge homeowners or contractors, and no payment is taken through the service.
Features may change, break, or be removed at any time, and we may pause or end the beta.
There are no service-level commitments during the beta.

Measurements and 3D models

Room dimensions, floor plans, and 3D models are generated automatically from your scan and can be inaccurate or incomplete. They are a starting point for a conversation with a contractor, not a substitute for measuring on site. Contractors should verify every dimension before relying on it for a quote, an order, or any work.

Your content

You keep ownership of the scans, photos, project details, and messages you submit.
You give us permission to store, process, and display that content as needed to run the service, including sharing it with the businesses you choose to send it to.
Only scan spaces you own or have permission to scan, and don't upload content that is unlawful or that you don't have the right to share.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to access other people's projects or accounts, disrupt the service, scrape it, or use it to harass anyone.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable or abusive content or behavior. That includes harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual or violent content, spam, and scams, in messages, photos, attachments, or anything else you send through the service.

Reporting and blocking

In any conversation, in the app or on the website, you can report a single message or the whole conversation, and block the other person or business. While a block is in place, neither side can send messages in any project you share. The side that blocked can unblock at any time.
We review every report and act on it within 24 hours. Depending on what we find, we remove the content and suspend or remove the account that posted it.

Third-party components

Room layouts are produced in part with SpatialLM by Manycore Research, whose model weights are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0. We use them only within this non-commercial beta.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made based on measurements or models produced by the service.

Ending your use

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Account in the app. What happens to your data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version, and material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
